Dec 02, 2015 · In this area, I have another question. I am going to model an 2d indentation test in abaqus. one part is biphasic and another one is rigid. since this contact problem takes a long time to be solved, I am going to export the inp file from abaqus to febio. in abaqus I have already made the parts, did assembly and mesh the biphasic part. Dassault Systèmes® Introduction to Opera-2d covers all main aspects of the finite element modelling process and is aimed at providing sufficient information and hands-on experience to put you on track to successfully analyse your own devicesThe ABAQUS input file representing the problem above is available for download below. The file contains the relevant information pertaining to the mesh (nodes and element connectivity), material properties for the bulk and cohesive elements, and loads and boundary conditions, etc. Download input file (2D) Download input file (3D)

In this tutorial I analyze a 2D truss structure which is loaded with concentrated forces at a few of its nodes. Truss structures are designed to carry axial loads (tensile and compressive) without any bending, and the nodes of a truss structure are pin joints meaning that they only transfer forces and not moments. Abaqus FEA (formerly ABAQUS) is a software suite for finite element analysis and computer-aided engineering, originally released in 1978. The name and logo of this software are based on the abacus calculation tool. [6] Abaqus via 2D template. This was described in Hypermesh tutorial. However,I could not figure out how to create and export a simple 3D model to Abaqus. I only want nodes and elements and no boundary conditions or contact pair, nothing. Can anyone tell the steps how to create simple 3 D elements on a rectangular area. Abaqus Home Page

ABAQUS/CAE allows the inclusion of these “curvature correction” terms in the equations for nonaxisymmetric structures when computing the S22, S33, and S12 components. The numerical scheme is identical to that used when performing stress linearization in axisymmetric structures. ABAQUS/CAE V6.5-3 is used to create the finite element model. Even though the problem is symmetric, the entire specimen is modeled so the surface based contact features in VCCT for ABAQUS can be utilized. 4-node plane strain elements (CPE4) are used to discretize the model with an out-of-plane thickness of 0.005 units.

Mesh the part before you apply the load. 2. Create a node set for the whole edge you want to apply line load (select by feature edge). 3. Choose type of load as 'concentrated force' and select the set to which to want to apply line load.
